Area guide
DIFC
Galleries, restaurants and the financial centre
The financial district by day, one of Dubai’s best restaurant and gallery quarters by night.
The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) is the city’s financial free zone, set around the Gate building on Sheikh Zayed Road. Beyond the offices, Gate Village and the surrounding streets hold contemporary art galleries and a dense cluster of well-regarded restaurants and bars.
Why stay here
It is central, polished and well connected, with Downtown a short ride away. Business travellers in particular appreciate being close to meetings.
What to know
It is quiet at weekends compared with weekday evenings. The Museum of the Future stands on Sheikh Zayed Road nearby; it closed in September 2026 for a major exhibition change and plans to reopen in early 2027.
